Well hullo there Yule! And dearest kitchen crew!

I’m getting in the mood.

Yup.

Christmas is all about giving (out). Fa la la la lahhhh ...

I like to give my husband solid memories, so I activate drama-mode, and let my ego loose alongside the tinsel and the turkey giblets. By December 25th, I’m practically sweating sequins.

Why is December so stressfilled? Maybe it’s a perfectionist’s fate. The run up to Christmas can often feel somewhere between an Alfred Hitckcock movie and a bad Wes Anderson screening. Everything appears dreamy and beautiful. But beneath the surface, our collective passive-aggressive stressbombs are enough to alarm the UN General Assembly.

Over the course of my theatricals, I have come to realise that irrespective of how hideously I behave, these recipes succeed in mending moods and marriages.

So yes - two fabulous recipes today.

The Rosewater Halva is an oldie, but a goldie. This recipe comes out every single year. It will add a sophisticated splash of romance to your Christmas party. One taste can ignite libido, like finding Bradley Cooper under the mistletoe.

But if you don't want romance at your party (like a family reunion) then feel free to horse into the upgraded biscuit cake.

Like a software update, this biscuit cake has nothing buggy for our mainframe. In place of junked-up biscuits, you’ll find that minimally processed oat cakes work even better. We've also swapped out the colossal amounts of white sugar for dried goji berries, apple-sweetened cranberries, toffee-tasting dates, and condensed coconut milk.

One taste will have you deliciously fixated like a kitten in a dawn chorus.
