New Cookbook, Clever Batch

Ta-dahhhh!

This cookbook chronicles the skill-set I have learned in the kitchen as a financially squeezed, time-pressured mum. Batch cooking has opened up a whole new world for me; a world without kitchen cuffs, wailing children, superfood sonatas or pans to scrub.

Care to join me there?

Lots of tips to put the ease back into freeze

As an under-caffeinated, financially cramped, time pinched mum, my kitchen management needed re-evaluation. Sometimes I got it right. But most evenings I felt like a Winegum in a combine harvester. Being short on time, money and patience, I had a problem.

I wanted to cook badass nourishing meals but I didn’t want to cook every single night. I wanted to reduce the honking stress at 6pm in our home. I wanted to spend less time in the grocery store looking for arcane ingredients. And I wanted to spend more time at home, high-fiving my genius. I didn’t need another freaking meditation app. What I needed was to get through the month without maxing my Visa or adrenal glands.

So these days, my freezer plays an Oscar-worthy role.

You can grab your copy in bookstores nationwide, or home delivery outside Ireland with Amazon.

Hi Susan Jane, congratulations on the new book, I wondered what you were up too! I think you should extend the pre-order deadline date for others as Dubray Website is being worked on so I could not pre-order online. I had to contact them by phone to pre-order (which I did because you are great & loving your work). All this plámásing might win me a Seat at the table! I look forward to reading it.
    Great health, happiness & nutrition,

Fingers crossed! I heard some people couldn’t pre order with Dubray and ended up with Easons instead. That means there will be even less people for the masterclass draw, so greater chances! I’m dying to find out who is coming to my home!!!

    Hi
I’m a former recipe tester for Angela Liddon and practice batch cooking. My freezer is packed with jars of homemade soups, bread (double bagged for freshness), homemade immunity shots & muffins from bygone batches waiting for forthcoming teddy parties.
As we are a vegan family, can you please tell me how many recipes in your Clever Batch are vegan friendly?

Hello there! Wow! I don’t imagine that I could teach you anything new after your work with Angela Liddon! Clever Batch is primarily vegetarian (maybe 3 meat recipes, no fish recipes). The curries and stews are vegan. Only 4 of the desserts are not vegan. I think there’s about 160 recipes in total, and a chapter on flavoured yoghurts but even within that chapter, there’s coconut yoghurt recipe and hemp cream to use in place of dairy yoghurt and cream. Hope this helps! My eldest son (10) is vegan and I only eat meat once every 4 weeks so that’s probably reflected in the book. Love that your freezer is chocka block!
